If you’re looking to do some Truckchasing outside of the ordinary this weekend, do we have the destination for YOU.
Shaker Village’s WELL CRAFTED FESTIVAL cranks up tomorrow Saturday, June 18th featuring an array of local brews, bands, food trucks and much more to wet your proverbial whistle. The 3rd annual event offers a unique Kentucky experience in a venue unlike any other and a truly breathtaking backdrop for delving into some of the area’s finest craft beer, food, and music.
The event is held at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill with gates opening at 11am for the early birds. Music is set to start at noon.
As admitted food truck obsessives we are glad to see the involvement of so many of our local food trucks in this year’s roster.
This year’s food lineup will feature Red State BBQ, Bluegrass Kettle Masters, North Lime Coffee and Donuts, Furlongs Crazy Bout Cajun, Gilberto Gelato, Crank & Boom, Buddy’s World Famous, Whooo Wants Waffles, and newcomer Go-Go Burger.
(We can tell you from personal experience at many of these that the grub is decidedly mouth-watering….and that we’re personally chomping at the bit to check the others off or our lists.)
And what better way to wash down these tasty morsels than with any of a multitude of craft beer choices?
Against the Grain, Alltech, Apocalypse, Beer Engine, Blue Stallion, Country Boy, Ethereal, Falls City, Goodwood, Goose Island, Lemons Mill, New Belgium, Rhinegeist, Rooster, Sierra Nevada, Sweetwater, West Sixth and White Squirrel will all be serving up suds for your sipping pleasure. As an added incentive the first 1,000 festival goers will receive a commemorative pint glass as a nice keepsake for the event.
Another big draw of the festivities at WELL CRAFTED is always the stellar music lineup which will feature headliner Langhorne Slim and The Law along with Linda Ortega and the Tillers.
Many superb local acts will also be featured on the bill including NP Pressley, Caleb Caudle and Band, Tyler Childers and the Foodstamps, Derek Spencer (who we’ve been lucky enough to sing with at Chevy Chase Inn), Jeremy Squires, Melissa “Tree” Jackson, Josh Nolan and John Clay.
Both Josh and I can tell you from our experience at last year’s festival that the scene of watching headliner Lera Lynn (from True Detective 2 fame) perform with her band against a majestic Shaker Village sunset was a sight and feel that remains etched on our collective minds.
Do yourself a favor and get yourself to Harrodsburg’s Shaker Village this weekend for a grand ol’ time at WELL CRAFTED FESTIVAL and breathe (eat and drink) in a rural experience that’s hard to duplicate.
We’ll see ya there….and by all means, bring your appetite.
